Windows 11 can be used to send either a stereo or mono signal to your attached speakers or headphones. For listening to music or a film stereo audio should be selected, however there maybe instances when mono audio will a better fit, such as less listening stress (e-learning for example) and is also much simpler to post-edit when compared to stereo audio streams.
